- SolarTherm in collaboration with the National Engineering Research and Development Centre of Sri Lanka (NERD) developed the first solar water heater in Sri Lanka in 1982

- In 2003, Alpha Thermal Systems (Private) Limited, created a sister company, Alpha Solar Energy Systems (Private) Limited, to increase focus and improve customization of its solar photovoltaic (PV) activities.

Domestic Solar Water Heating Systems
SolarTherm solar water heating systems are designed and manufactured to optimise the heat absorption and efficient heat transfer from solar collector to the water running in the copper riser tubes of the panel. Heated water is transferred to the insulated hot water storage tank by thermo syphon effect. The heated water is stored in storage tank for usage. This is a continuous cycle taking place as long a the sunlight is available.
Commercial Solar Water Heating Systems
SolarTherm solar water heating systems are designed and manufactured to optimise the heat absorption and efficient heat transfer from solar collector to the water running in the copper riser tubes of the panel. Heated water is transferred to the insulated hot water storage tank by using forced circulation system. The heated water is stored in centrally located large storage tanks with necessary control systems.
