SolarTherm, the most trusted solar brand in Sri Lanka recently entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Alliance Finance Company (AFC) to jointly promote the ‘AFC Green Loan’ among SolarTherm customers as well as employees. With the AFC Green Loan, SolarTherm customers and employees can purchase on-grid solar PV systems / equipment that are designed, installed, commissioned and implemented by Solartherm.
The MoU was formalized by Mr. Nishantha Jayasuriya, director of Solartherm, and Mr. Mr.Kusal Jayawardhana-Deputy Managing Director of AFC, in the presence of other representatives and senior leadership from both parties.
SolarTherm, the market leader in Sri Lanka’s growing solar industry as the pioneers of solar PV in the country, also services the largest customer base of over 100,000 customers. SolarTherm continues to strengthen its reputation as a key enabler of Sri Lanka’s steady transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy, and boasts a growing portfolio comprising large installations of solar hot water heating systems and solar electricity systems.
As part of the formalized agreement, AFC will provide financial assistance to SolarTherm customers as well as employees referred by the company to purchase on-grid solar PV systems / equipment, provided applicants are eligible to obtain the loan facility as per the internal guidelines/approvals of AFC. Solartherm remains responsible for the detailed design of the solar PV system that is to be submitted to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) / Lanka Electricity Company (LECO), and the delivery and installation of materials at the client location. Solartherm is also responsible for testing and commissioning of the solar PV system in accordance with manufacturer regulations and local regulatory authorities.
