Our Achievements
* Installed the first Sri Lankan water heater in 1982 in collaboration with National Engineering Research and Development Centre during a time when solar-products were considered a luxury.
* Product was brought into the market by first introducing it to the health sector.
* Moved to a factory at Industrial Estate, Ekala in 1987.
* Obtained pioneering industry status for solar water heating from the Ministry of Finance under the new reformed company Alpha Thermal Systems Private Limited.
* Development of Solar Electricity Department.
* Started exporting SolarTherm water heaters to the Republic of Maldives.
* Commenced off-grid solar power systems in non-grid connected areas in Sri Lanka.
* Product Excellence Award from Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (SLIA) for solar water heating system in 1996.
* Awarded the Silver Awards for Small Category in 1996 and Medium Category in 1997 by the Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka.
* Introduced the first evacuated tube solar water heater.
* Product Excellence Award from Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (SLIA) for SolarTherm solar water heating system in 1998.
* Introduced heat pump technology for large commercial hot water requirements.
* Solar Industries Association of Sri Lanka was formed with SolarTherm becoming a founder member.
* SolarTherm was selected as a supplier and service provider for the Energy Services Delivery Project by the World Bank.
* Moved to Head office to present location, 121, Castle Street, Colombo 8.
*Established Second manufacturing facility at Kandana in 2008.
* National Energy Globe Award for Sri Lanka was awarded at the European Parliament in 2008 for the project supply and installation of solar street lamps and solar electrification.
* National Energy Globe Award for Sri Lanka was awarded at the European Parliament in 2011 for the project solar PV vaccine refrigerator.
* Commissioned Largest ground-mounted privately owned solar park in Sri Lanka.
* Executed the first solar powered Vesak pandol in partnership with the Ministry of Youth Affairs in 2013 in Sri Lanka.
* Largest 2.75 MW project commissioned for a factory in Horana.
* SolarTherm contributed over 50 MW to the national grid by way of supplying and installing SolarWorld solar modules.
* SolarTherm installed the largest commercial water heating system with a storage capacity of 18,000 litres in Sri Lanka.
